Tom Percival es un reconocido autor de literatura infantil y illustrador, famoso principalmente por su trabajo en la serie "Skulduggery Pleasant". Percival ha tenido un gran impacto en el mundo de la literatura infantil, con sus obras siendo nominadas para premios prestigiosos como el Greenaway award. Percival creció en una parte remota y hermosa de South Shropshire en una caravana sin electricidad, agua corriente ni calefacción. Esta infancia única moldeó sus intereses y pasiones, lo que finalmente lo llevó a desarrollar su amor por la escritura y el dibujo.
