Thomas H. Cook es un reconocido autor estadounidense, famoso por sus novelas de misterio y suspenso. Nació en Fort Payne, Alabama, en 1947 y posteriormente obtuvo una licenciatura y una maestría en Historia Estadounidense en el Georgia State College y Hunter College, respectivamente. Más tarde, recibió un Ph.D. de la Universidad de Columbia. La carrera de escritura de Cook comenzó cuando trabajó como editor de reseñas de libros en Atlanta Magazine durante cuatro años. Posteriormente, se dedicó por completo a escribir ficción.
