Joyce Hansen es una autora destacada de literatura infantil y juvenil con una carrera que abarca más de dos décadas. Su primera novela, "The Gift-Giver", publicada en 1980, se inspiró en su infancia en el Bronx y sus experiencias como educadora. Esto marcó el comienzo de un prolífico viaje literario que combina el realismo contemporáneo con temas de familia, comunidad y crecimiento personal.
