Jim Eldridge es un autor prolífico, nacido en el área de Euston en Londres en 1944. Creció en un tiempo convulso, sobreviviendo a los ataques de cohetes V1 y V2 durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Ha escrito más de 250 guiones de televisión para programas infantiles y adolescentes, tanto en el Reino Unido como internacionalmente, y también es el creador y escritor de la serie de comedia-drama de Radio 4, King Street Junior. Además de su trabajo en televisión y radio, Eldridge ha escrito numerosos libros para niños, incluidos títulos de la serie Mi Historia, los libros Warpath y Cómo manejar a los adultos.
A principios de la década de 2000, Eldridge cambió su enfoque desde los libros para niños y la televisión a la escritura de novelas históricas de crimen para adultos.
